  • Starting the ball rolling for owners of Sony Tv's. Recently a new firmware was rolled out by Sony Asia Pacfic for the "D" year 2016 series. as usual, Sony asia pacific is the slowest in releasing firmware. Sony North America was the first (25th May 2021). then Sony UK was the second (26th May 2021). Sony Asia Pacific as usual was and is always the last (04th Aug 2021). attached below are the links.

one SONY KD-65ZD9 (Singapore Local Set) (Master Bedroom Usage)
one SONY XBR-49X900F (American Imported Set) (Computer Screen Usage)

  • At Last!!!
i have loaded a "Fully Working Apple TV+" APK File into all my 3 Sony TV's, "Year 2016 and 2018 Models".
Google Playstore doesnt have the Apk file in the Sony tvs for installation. i Sideloaded it via downloading the apk into my computer, n then transfered it into a USB Thumbdrive formatted in "Fat 32". then i connected the thumbdrive into the sony tv's usb ports n used file manager to open the apk file location. i used the inbuilt "Package Installer" in sony tv's to install it.
SUCCESS!!!! AT LAST!! ALL WORKING FINE N DANDY!!
Attached below is the link/website to download the file. i didnt download the latest Apk... i downloaded the Version 2.2.
    Enjoy Guy's!!

  • thks buddy, but that latest firmware is sadly rolled out for the "Europe" set's...
i have ever tried to load europe firmware into my "American Z9D in the hall, but no success.. i even tried editing the name of the firmware but it too didnt work..
got to wait till the American sony website lists this new firmware.. the Z9D in my bedroom is a local SG set, so that one needs the "Asia Pacific Firmware"

  • your setup very complicated, lol.

The firmware for UK is released on 18 May. Typically the porting takes quite a while, probably in a couple of months then reach other regions.

At least got some update/fix lar. But I doubt we will get another OS upgrade
