Time to explore newer forum platform?
« on: 20 November, 2020, 08:22:49 am »
Since the forum is starting from scratch anyway, and given SMF's age and challenges supporting things you YouTube etc. natively, maybe it's time to explore a newer forum like Discourse?

http://github.com/discourse/discourse

It's free, has loads of support, and natively supports most of the newer social media without having to resort to funky modules.

Just thinking out loud  ;D

Yes, definitely as long as you guys don't mind me resetting the forum again.    :)

You saw me using Vbulletin before this, so, you know I am trying.

Entirely up to you Audio  :).

I don't think the local Audiophile scene is going away anytime soon. I'm pretty sure most of the folks who used to frequent Echoloft are just waiting for the return of something similar; simple, clean, fast and focused on audio (and maybe video ;D)

I don't see a button for it on the editor though, what are the required tags?

I don't know.  I know that I wanted to install this when this forum was in testing last month. I believe you just insert the link and the embedded player will take care of it.  It even worked on the Westendboy's post this morning.
