It's been 20 years since I built my first speaker, which was the clone of Proac Response 2.5. Since then I have built many speakers and subwoofers, and fortunate enough to work with many of the fine drivers like Scanspeak, Seas, SB Acoustics, Eton, Peerless, Vifa, Wavecor, Dayton Audio, TC...

Playing around with small woofer that can give very decent bass in small cabinet. Only few small woofers can do that. In this project I picked Dayton 4" woofer that can give good bass extension based on simulation. As for tweeter, I have MIC tweeter in hand that is similar to Vifa small XT...

With that configuration, I would buy subwoofer plate amplifiers that can take speaker input to drive the sealed woofers, then cross it around 70Hz or so. Keep the FR and tweeter as it is. You can customize the bass however you want it much easier. Nothing much to spec a sealed enclosure.

It's all good with different crossover as long as you like the sound. Here's the measurement with my crossover. Trying to be as natural as possible. No emphasise on certain freq. I stay near Bukit Gombak MRT. You are welcome to drop by for a chat or listening to music.

Built by synthesis 😉 That additional baffle is because the previous owner wanted to change drivers combination from original configuration.

Could be issue with speaker terminal connector or maybe loose solder. Curious, what speaker is this?

Swap the left and right speakers. Check if the issue follows the speaker

Your standard maybe very high.....😉 Marantz CD player can do streaming/Tidal if you like the sound. I'm ok with the sound from Marantz ND8006 but I don't like the HEOS app interface

Port diameter and depth affect the port tuning frequency. Changing the airflow in the port will affect the tuning frequency as well.
