My focus usually falls on the budget PIONEER/ONKYOs range. However due to their absence in local market coming to 2yrs without any news on their new product coming into local market... i guess we'll have to make a shift to move our attentions on other makes in the market such as YAMAHA, Marantz as well as DENON.

It's 2021, and the latest hype in the market is 8K HDMI input systems.
From Yammy side, it seems only their mid-class ADVANTAGE range priced @ $1.5k and above will have such feature. While Yammy's budget range V4A and V6A will be depandant on firmware updates.
But Denon and Marantz will give such upgrade to interested buyers from as low as $1K(starting launch price).

DENON's offering of 8K HDMI connection starts from X1700H where "7" if i'm not wrong, refers to 2021.
X1700H now available!

together with X2700H, X3700H, X4700H, X6700H. While the budget "S class" seems to be stuck @ S550H and S750H which are dated back to... 2019?

Wow!! i must say that i am very impressed with 2021 Denon AVR Model X1700H!!
My Neighbour's very old Harmon Kardon Avr died on him recently..N since he knows that i am a crazy dude with loud sounds coming from my unit daily, he asked me to help him get introduced to a brand new avr...
we headed down to adelphi to check it out. being a Onkyo Fanboy, i tried in vain to source the Onkyo's.. (But none available as Onkyo only ships their new models to usa n europe only, despite being built in malaysia)
so the next brand i could safely think of, was denon... Marantz is a "Big NO NO in my books as it sucks big time for me, (No Impact)
found a Denon X1700H as my neighbour didnt want to splurge excessively. bought it n brought it back and did the installation for him.
his existing speaker's are just a simple 5.1 setup consisting of Ancient JBL Plastic encased body speakers (JBL Sat2), and a 8" Harmon Kardon Subwoofer.
OH MY!!!! once i set it all up, i played "STRANGER THINGS" from Netflix, (AS that is my Dolby Vision + Dolby Atmos go to test series)
Holy Cow!! what an exciting experience!! the denon performed so damn well, that after i finished setting up in his place, i went back to test the same scene on my own Onkyo setup... my neighbour also followed me back to my unit to compare... my system fell flat!!
even he being a newbie said the same thing... looks like i am gonna be ditching onkyo for a denon for my next AVR..
Kudo's to Denon!

Plus it's got three "8K" hdmi inputs!!
for a entry level avr, the x1700h is a "GEM"

the x#700H receivers are currently on clearance offers every where.
x1700H is priced around $1080 +/-$30, while x2700H hovers around $1.4K.

they're probably making way for the arrival of #800H series for 2022 late release in SG.

those typical black and red cables will degrade in sound, in roughly 2yrs period due to oxidization... that depends on the frequency of usage.
after that, it will be a hassle to "re-wire" if the black and red cable is used for surround channel.

OK, I hate Marantz too, I hate the round submarine window.  But Denon is holding back their processor.

Maybe you just get ready $10K for the AVC-A1H and settle for all RCA interconnects to your NAD power amps.  The only saving grace is you now can do 4 XLR to your 4 subwoofers.  Should be available sooner than the Marantz.
