Any feedback on the Hi-End Asia 2023?

What is a 1:1 CD?
Is it a direct remastering from a higher-resolution master tape or digital copy to CD, with each distributed CD duplicated individually? I assume that ripping a CD or SACD and then burning the songs to a CDR one by one doesn’t qualify as a 1:1 CD.

I see... I've learned something new. So this type of CD is known as the 1:1 direct master cut CD.

Tats what they can claim la. Real or not, we duno.
1:1 Direct Cut CD, I find them average. I preferred ABC Record's AAD Recording

They dub into tape then do the CD again? Their vocal lp quite nice.

The show cd gain is lower than the album cd for some tracks of their album. Can try up the volume, observe if the system still maintain the same noise floor, If it does, the playback should be more quiet 3d etc vs the normal album track.

Francis, have you compare the show CD and found it to be really superior?

I know that there is volume difference but the tone is very different. Bringing up the volume does not help.

i think next year will have the stereonet show as well. It will be a very crowded space then with these shows competing for exhibitors and consumers interest. i fear we will end up with multiple smaller shows and show fatigue for both exhibitors and consumers

It has been postponed each year since 2020. Success or otherwise depends on exhibitors and event organisers and other stakeholders as well. The increasing venue costs may be a hindrance.

Unlikely there will be 3 hows in a year but wonder if 2 shows in a year will cause show fatigue.

Suppose there is a distinct theme: High-End Asia is designed for manufacturers to showcase their products, while ISSE is tailored for local dealers to demo the brands they represent. However, the lines are often blurred, with both manufacturers and dealers participating in these events. In the worst-case scenario, if both shows feature the same set of products, there would be no incentive for visitors to attend both exhibitions.

They dub from reel, saw them in Guangzhou show back in 2014. Music Book Room at bras basah complex used to sell lots of ABC Record CD and LP, but sadly Music Book Room had closed down for early this year

I beg to differ, music lovers and audiophiles are 99% curious people who like to know what is the latest that is available even if they don't need a change or add-on ( very fashionable these days with food ) or upgrade, and would itchily go for a mere $20/$100 ( small change ) to spend time and browse around sniffing in this room and that.

It is a SHIOK feeling like no other. It is a healthy addiction and so long as your Happiness index goes up just lap it up and live Life to the fullest for tomorrow may never come. 1697784724523.png

To attend the shows to find the latest offerings is not different from my view. However, different perspectives are appreciated, and you will always have full support from Boxer if your view really differs from mine.

I find it better in terms of noise floor, sound stage separation, refinement. I will have a listen again and compare them in native sample rate this or nxt weekend. On the show cd, Some tracks I prefer some in 192, some 384 some dsd some dsdx2. The track 4 if I recall correctly, I prefer it being upsampled to 384.
