Hi, anyone tried Dali menuet se? Space constraints, speakers only 20cm from back n side walls, bookshelf, can't have stands. Any other speakers advice?
Is the Dali menuet se difficult to drive?
Have listened to dynaudio se 40 but don't think will be good with my space constraints and also out off budget.
Thanks

Based on spec, it's designed on the wall or near the wall, so should not be problem..
It's 4 ohm speaker so not all amp able to drive 4 ohm.
You will need selection of amp.

If you don't mind SingFi, I'm selling this speaker. Audition at my place.
Smooth natural freq response. Big sound from small cabinet. Easy to drive 86dB with relatively flat 8 ohm impedance. Min impedance 6.5 ohm.
Scanspeak woofer and SB Acoustics tweeter
Dimension including speaker terminal and magnetic grill: 18x34.5x32.5 cm WxDxH
Real American Walnut veneer
Quite a bit cheaper than that Dali 😁

Dali Menuet SE is very good for its size. It is quite a bit more cheaper to get it in Japan than locally though.

Couple more options to consider at this price range.

Eclipse TD508MK3. Can import direct from Japan or buy locally at Audio88.

Elipson Planet L. Absolute has it.

Have not listen to the Dali Menuet SE before, seeing their cabinet size and you having space constrain like many of us, you may want to check out ATC SCM 7. Just a suggestion.

Impedance curve looks well controlled around it's 4ohm spec... should be quite easy to drive by a quality amplifier.

Hi all,

Thank u for all the advices.

ATC, think was atc sm 11, heard before, don't like it as listen long fatigue to the ears, maybe it's the amp and I think was a tube.

I have heard Dali menuet se at e77 with Cambridge amp, although I feel Cambridge amp not to my likings but the the speaker manage all the songs pretty well. Back then was auditioning hegel h190 with dynaudio se40, which to my ears, better than atc scm 11 but I think se40 need space and with the hegel, way out of my budget

Thank you boxerfan88 for the curve, good to know it could be easy to drive with a good amp.

Good to know can get from Japan cheaper as traveling to Jap year end, any advice how to go about it? Any tax??

Well, by right, anything you buy overseas more than $500 will have to declare and pay GST upon returning to Singapore. But usually for smaller items most people just won't bother declaring lar. But for BNIB speakers hard to avoid Customs so I guess you need to pay the GST upon returning.

Checked those Tokyo shops, seems like Fujiya Avic is selling the Menuet SE the cheapest

After factoring in GST, still cheaper than $2K. Anyway, can try to ask E77 to price match first. Usually if you go down in person to their showroom they would give 10% off their listed price. Maybe if you show them the Japan price they might be willing to go down further.

You listened to the ATC at Chinatown? When I went down to listen to it, they paired it with Rockna Wavelight and the big Line Magnetic. It was quite aggressive sounding, but after changing the Dac to Aqua La Scala more rounded and pleasing. So I think it was the DAC.

Thank u for the infor, will try nego with E77.

Yup, listened to ATC, nice detail nice stage etc with the SCM 11 but after 3 songs...ear CMI... Gave up... To me, pairing if ATC need some consideration

I'm using Dali spektor so think I'm used to that sound

I started with a pair of Dali Oberon 3s. Enjoyed my time with them.

I then replaced them with Triangle Comete 40th Anniversary. If your listening preference is mostly vocal, and you don't mind the slightly larger size, you can consider them as well. Very easy to drive and not rear ported, so you can flush them all the way to the wall.
