Denon AVC8500 Atmos after latest sw update

After the most recent update for the AVC8500, my uhds disc and rips that have TrueHD 7.1 (Atmos) seems to be detected as TrueHD 7.1 initially by the avr. Pressing any decode selection keys on the remote will then made the avr decodes as Atmos.

Anyone has the same experience?

Let me wire up my ethernet switch to my rack to enable me to upgrade firmware on my 8500H today and see if I can the same issue.

I have just upgraded the firmware of my 8500.

I confirmed your observation:-

This appears on whatever movie I am playing even when the movie has Dolby Atmos soundtrack.

I solved the issue by pressing once on the Green "Movie" button at the Denon remote control and then move the selection down to ATMOS track.

Thereafter, whenever there is ATMOS soundtrack, the Denon will display Dolby Atmos automatically; no need to press any button again.

For me, seems I have to do this everytime. Now I realised too that the 4700 experience this too but I just need to press the Green button once and it "remember".

Maybe will do a power on/off at the outlet to see whether it help.

Power cycle does not help

Looks like this affect the Panasonic UB820 only. Xbox One X is ok, just pressed once. For the zidoo, its intermittent
Works for some files only. Rest need to press green button evevery time

After software update 2 weeks ago,  I had same problem.  Every file or disc changed I'd to press.  I did calibrate 2 or 3 days after update owing to my centre speaker relocated,  since then I have no problem.

Either there is a new update,  mine is on auto update so no need to do anything or loading new calibration file ceased the problem.  Perhaps you can try saving and loading again calibration file.
