The last upgrade was for the Denon AVP-A1HD and I went for it.  No regrets whatsoever.

So this one for the Denon X8500H, obviously, it is a "go" for me.  Unless the Marantz AV-8808 release first.  :)

Haha just when i was thinking should i open a Denon AVR thread this morning, badbad2000 bro beats me to it.

i still stuck thinking should i get this AVR or get an integrated amplifier with ARC since i am just using 2.0 channel for music and movies in my room.  :-X

But with the price of integrated amplifier with ARC (E.g CambridgeAudio EVO 150), i can get this liao leh..zzz..

I started out using a AVP for a preamp for my Stereo setup.

Then some wise guy came to my place with a CD player, a DAC and a power amp.  Fucking shit!!  The setup blown my entire system away.  The next day I went down to the dealer and bought a duplicate set.

That is how I ended up with a dedicated stereo setup with a HT Bypass line from the Denon to drive my Front Speakers.

No choice, if you like HT and Stereo, you will end up like me.

OMG..that is last thing i wanted to do that i have ever thought of.  Always a poison to go listen to other system.  Trying to do a all in one system that can have good music and movies (hopefully there is).

I also recommend my good friend to buy X8500H seeing that all the Bros here saying is good.  He said he will wait for X8500HA. But looking at the price of X8500H+ HDMI 2.1 upgrade is around $5300 compared to 7K X8500HA, maybe is good to just buy X8500H+HDMI 2.1 upgrade board instead.

I started with 2.0 then 2.1 then 5.1 then 7.1 then 7.1.2 then 5.1.6

If only 2.0 just get a set good for stereo, then HT not an issue. But 2.1 will be better for HT.

It's very sure worth for you.
I think I am only one here who have only 1 HDMI input and 1 HDMI output(eARC), and the only HDMI input is only audio. So no gooooooooooooooooooo......

For my old Denon AVP-A1HD, after the HDMI board upgrade, I was able to do 3D HD and Audyssey 32 XT, damn happy already.  Then come 4K, I was still happily using my Denon A1HD, just run the 4K signal directly from 4K payer to Projector and then run play Audio HDMI to Denon....everything works fine.

I did at some point bought Marantz AV-8802 to try out Dolby Atmos but still prefer my Denon AVP-A1HD.

So now, with the X8500H, you will survive without the upgrade.  Just wire the 8K plyer to your 8K display direct bypassing the AVR.

You are lucky they don't have HDMI input caps!!

Maybe 2.1 in a later stage.  Have also been thinking for many years.  ;D
