Subwoofer step response moved closer to the mains (via DXO -5ms delay).



Good decay times.




Waterfall:
(the 44Hz, 70Hz resonance amplitude after 300ms is about 5-6 dB lower than the previous configuration, 55Hz resonance almost gone.)

I must say it sounded very good last night, no matter what content I played.

Sounds partially like a headphone setting without the “inside the head” image.

Really nice this EQ36b with -5ms sub delay.

Redid the gain staging of my setup to support higher SPL (for visitors who may want to test/demo higher SPL).

• KH310 gain increased from 94dB to 100dB
• Subwoofer gain increased from mid-5clicks to mid+2clicks
• used REW to confirm shape of curve matches up after re-configuring system gain.

System now supports 100dB SPL at full scale signal.

So sad… umik1 halfway up the lorry liao… Siao siao can work siao siao won’t work

Very limited ability to do measurements liao… quite frustrating when i am just starting to experiment with bbc dip…

Can’t decide between getting another umik1 replacement, or go with traditional audio interface + xlr measurement mic (which more expensive but flexible)…

That Topping Pro Audio e2x2 interface specs look really good

Seriously end game setup reached, after more than a year's worth of research and tweaking.

• balanced tonality achieved
• time aligned subwoofer-mains which now packs solid bass punch (8 msec delay, reel-reel tape head bump-dip EQ added)
• superb imaging
• big & tall sound stage from the higher than normal speaker positioning
• analog like feel/sound (via added dither noise)
• some songs can make one emotional

Cannot seem to find any more reason to tweak the current setup.

I suppose nothing is perfect, the one small weakness is that the depth is a little on the shallow side. I cannot do anything about it because I need the speakers right up against the wall for physical space & tonality reasons.

Also did some UI tweaks to the new 27" audiophile display screen ... confirm can beat all those streamer displays
Also good for my aging eyes...
