After run in if still same issue, try pulling it further apart or foward. Which ever sound better to u.

Temporarily or permanently, stuff a folded sock into the rear port to reduce boom. Experiment with various sock thickness and material for the best sound.

Likely due to positioning giving a fair bit of front wall gain. I fully agree with bro BSF, try plugging the port. Or use tone control if u have. Bass is omnidirectional.

Might want to try this playlist to give the woofers a good workout.
Me think 75-80dbSPL average is good enough to exercise the woofers.

Put the speakers face-to-face, connect the wires out-of-phase, cover the speakers with a duvet and blast them 24x7. In a week, they will be ready to rock and roll.

A quick comparison reveals that the Audioquest Diamond is less lustrous compared to the Crystal Monet. It is characterized by a noticeably recessed sound profile and a stronger emphasis on mid-range frequencies, yielding an overall dimmer and thicker sound quality. However, these traits could make it a complementary match for Accuphase systems. This aligns well with Atlas's strategic decision to take over the dealership.

so i searching for port bungs, and stumbled on these;
it's foam for some other use, (not sure what), but seem to be quite useful with the removeable parts, so i thought just buy, can't do much with $5 anyway.
i plugged them in full, without removing the bits, and it was a bit too muffled. then i took out a few at a time, to try and see if there's much difference, and it got a bit better, and then i arrived at the magic combo (forgot to take pic, totally enjoying the music).
but in the right combo, took out 2 more pieces from the above, i could feel the music surround me (the right track and volume), floating around and encapsulating me. i was like, WOAH...
before these came, when i sat down to listen i was like, the speakers are not broken in yet, that's why i don't get what i heard at the show at home, but i could feel something was missing, but not sure what. i know sorting out the bass was impt, but i didn't think it was THAT impt. it was like after that i could hear all the highs that i was hoping for, and also the presentation was wider, slightly deeper, and more lifelike. possibly the best $5 i spent for awhile.

Compare this new one with the previous MD1, what are the differences?
I suppose the mids is clearer, what about the highs?

That's an innovative discovery. It looks like a port bung that can be 'tuned'.
