Recommend a headphone

I am using Sennheiser RS180 my 2nd set. Most times the sound is on the right and sometimes sound comes on for both sides. I have sent to their Service Centre in the west very far.

They don't have any more spare parts so I was given an RS170 docking station.

Have been looking at RS195U and RS175U.

RS195U with batteries  340gm
RS175U with batteries  310gm


RS180 with batteries  240gm

Review : The premium materials make the AirPods Max significantly heavier than the existing wireless headphones you might also consider ? at 385g, they weigh more than 100g more than the Sony WH-1000XM4, for example.

I have never used Wireless Headphone heavier than 240gm (with batteries.)

I watch TV 4 to 6 hours usually in the evenings so won't be able to imagine the comfort level of an extra 100grams or 135grams.

Sennheiser headphones cushion covers are replaceable.

AirPods Max is touted to be very good for SQ as there are reviews on it too.

Right now quite hesitant to decide unless there are users of both Sennheiser and IPOD having favourable experience despite weight.

Meanwhile I have yet to come to a decision on anyone of these.

I bought a pair o Creative Earphone Aurvana Trio in April 2020. I use it on my AIO PC mostly in the night for about 2 to 3 hours
in my room watching lectures, listening to music, and other documentaries on youtube. Thereafter they are left on my desk before the Monitor.

In February 2021 there was sound from the Left side.

I emailed about the problem to Creative and they asked to have the complete set with accessories be returned to them
for a change of new one.

I got the new set in March 2021.

Now the cables are exposed in certain parts.

There is no problem with the sound on both sides.

I like to know if it is Normal Wear and Tear condition or is it a Quality issue that I can raise up with Creative.

Over time will the Sound be affected when the protective cover brings together both positive and negative wires.

Since border reopening & work travel started, I found out my covered ANC headphones wasn?t working well anymore.

I decided to try IEM ANC headphones, and bought these inexpensive ones during 11.11 sale to try.

Surprisingly very good sound!  (ANC as expected is not so effective for IEMs). Very happy with the purchase.

These arrived a little late for my work travel earlier this week. Can?t wait to try them on my next work trip?

After using for a few days?.the bass is a tad heavy?switching to game mode helps?

SQ in general is still pretty good I must say.

I can?t believe I?m eating my words too.

I was recommended by a friend to try the Shure Aonic 50. I was planning a trip so the idea of a noise cancelling headphone seemed a good purchase. I did get a B&W PX a few years ago but I never really found them comfortable.

so after 7 hours on the plane with the Aonic 50

Noise cancellation is nowhere close to the Apple AirPods Pro 2. Transparency mode works but doesn?t have the same ability for you to pinpoint noises around you. On the Airpod Pro 2, you can even tell if the sound is behind you or to your sides. Bass without any EQ initially felt a little less punchy. It?s almost like Apple used some form of perceptual EQ to create the impression of deeper bass. But as I got used to the headphones I find the bass actually quite accurate. It?s there when it?s in the recording. But never added to sound impressive. It reminds me a lot of my Thiel CS2.4 in this respect.

But the Aonic 50 surprised me with how good it sounded. All the things  I look out for in a stereo or headphone is there. On the Mojo 2, I always love the separation of layers/tracks. So you can hear the different instruments in a complicated mix. I never get this on wireless BT headphones. The Aonic is possibly the first one where it was so apparent. Even with Noise cancelling on and in a noisy airplane environment. I think I?ll need to listen to it with a USB C connection.

Comfort was ok. I did feel some discomfort at first but i think it was because I didn?t extend both sliders of the headphones equally. Once I did that the weight was more balanced and I didn?t have an odd clamping force on one ear. The cups are a little smaller than I expected.

Also I had a chance to see myself wearing these in a mirror. And OMG these are a lot larger than I realized. I think they are the same size as the Bathys.

And I feel silly saying I couldn?t wear the Bathys because it looked flashy outside. The Aonic 50 in brown leather looks every bit as flashy [emoji28]

Build quality feels good. The extensions are made of metal and the leather or pleather ear cups are super soft and comfortable.

And did I mention the price? RRP is A$499. On offer just over A$300.

I think running in the headphones has made the bass much better. There?s more body behind the bass notes.

The bass on this sounds awesome.

A few times I?m moving around, I?m being extra careful because I keep thinking there must be cables connected to something like a Mojo2Poly or something. It?s completely liberating that something so good can be wireless.
