What discs did you just bought?

You guys are true audiophiles. I stopped buying any physical media a decade ago. Walking over to the hi-fi setup to change discs or vinyl is something I won’t do. This is the criterion to be an audiophile, and obviously, I’m not.

I am an old uncle whose old habits die hard. Hard to put aside 50 years of flipping LPs, and reading the text/pics on the jacket. Although I do have an Eversolo, I use it only for background listening after ripping all my CDs to preserve them after discovering that CD rot has started. Sound quality is still far apart.

I am waiting for the day when one-box streaming is as good as LP playback. Hopefully before my hand loses its steadiness, my eyes lose focus and ears lose sensitivity.

The founder of this Forum has a very good streaming system. However to get there via the same path as he, it is too complex and too costly for me.

It is difficult for digital systems to rival a turntable. However, a high-end R2R DAC, such as those produced by MSB or Rockna, can slightly bridge the gap. You can always use your Eversolo as a transport and output the signal via I2S to a dedicated R2R DAC to enhance the analog feel. However, this setup would require adding another component to your system, which may conflict with your preference for simplicity.

I usually listen to my streamer on most weekdays, even though my turntable offers superior sound quality. Convenience wins! Much of the music I play on the streamer is ripped directly from my vinyl collection. While it doesn’t match the quality of vinyl, it still sounds better than most CDs or streaming platforms
